Manliness

by Jun 21, 2016Courage, Man, Manhood

Being a man is one of those things that everyone has an opinion about, but what the word of God says about it is all that you truly need.

In the bible’s book of first kings, King David is about to die and charges his son Solomon with a admonition to “be a man!” I’m paraphrasing but only slightly. The meaning is for Solomon to be strong and courageous and not afraid to confront and lead.

A man must also know that while we try and promote peace at all times there is also a time for, “everything under heaven.”

“a time to kill and a time to heal;
a time to tear down and a time to build up;
a time to cry and a time to laugh;
a time to grieve and a time to dance;
a time to be quiet and a time to speak;
a time to love and a time to hate;
a time for war and a time for peace.”
— Ecclesiastes 3

…and finally a quote from a man who has gone on to be with The Lord;

“Manhood and Christlikeness are Synonymous.”
— Ed Cole
