The streets of Dhaka, Bangladesh were literally soaked with blood thanks to the animals sacrificed for the Islamic festival of Eid al-Adha that mixed with flood waters and turned into rivers of red. Though there were places designated within the city to bleed the goats, sheep, or cows, heavy rains kept residents from traveling, and they instead used alleys, parking lots, and sidewalks. 

The crowded capital city of 10 million people already struggles with terrible drainage systems and the rain coinciding with the traditional practice of sharing meat with the poor made for a bloody mess.
