Dating the Book of Revelation is the Key

But perhaps, not in the way that we have been taught. Modern church scholars place the writing of the book of Revelation around 90AD during the reign of Domitian Ceasar, citing the “Iraneas historical quote” where he references, “the Apostle John being Exiled during the the time of Domitius”. They assume he means “Domitian”, who was Ceasar during the AD 90’s era, however they miss the stunning realization that the contemporary Ceasar, during the time of the apostle John,  Nero Ceasar’s, true name was Domitius. Placing the writing of the book of revelation sometime prior to AD68, when Nero died.

The implications of this timing are thunderous, to say the least regarding the modern church’s eschatology, or study of end-times events. If the Apostle John’s vision occurred prior to the destruction of the Jewish temple in AD 70, then the timing of Daniel’s 70 weeks prophecy, (the shattering of the Holy Race) and the words of Christ in the gospels, (this generation shall not pass away before all things written about me are fulfilled), take on cataclysmic meaning.
